Conference Highlights: Faith Driven Entrepreneur

Last week’s Watch Party of the Faith Driven Entrepreneur Conference provided the opportunity to meet together, eat together and join with thousands of others taking in the conference online and at Watch Parties around the world.
The conference was hosted in Texas, but featured a wide range of incredible speakers from all around the world and from a wide range of sectors and professional backgrounds. A unifying thread throughout the conference was a call to follow Jesus: making his love and presence known in and through our work and circles of influence in the marketplace. We were encouraged and challenged to see what we do in our working life as redemptive action, engaging in God’s creative activity of making all things new. Yes, all things. This means our relationship with God, self, and others—the outflow of which impacts what we do in the marketplace.

The conference featured a number of marketplace leaders who shared their stories of change and transformation—marked by seasons of great joy and great challenge.
One of the joys of the evening was getting to hear back to back examples of Jesus followers who were so passionate about using their business for God. One example is featured in a video below, of an unconventional entrepreneur called Dave Munson who started a small business in 2003 out of the back of his truck. Today, he and his wife, Suzette, own and operate Saddleback Leather Company, a high-end leather goods business that has attracted a cult-like following for the beauty and quality of its products.
