What is your drive for 2025?

I invite you to ponder the question ‘Why do I do what I do?’

Dig deep into this. As far as you can. Ask God the same question .

In Exodus, we learn of Bezalel, one of the two named craftsmen who produced the tabernacle.

In Exodus 31:3 the bible says that God “filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship.”

God gifts Bezalel many desirable things. For what purpose? So that Bezalel and the craftsmen can ‘come and make all that the Lord has commanded’. Exodus 35:10.

So far it has been all God. Gifting and commanding. A response was required from Bezalel. “And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work.“ Exodus‬ ‭36‬:‭2‬

Bezalel’s heart was stirred up. He felt God’s calling and chose to answer it by accepting God’s gifts and using them to carry out what God commanded.

Much of Bezalel’s story we have the opportunity to reflect in our own lives. This Old Testament passage is still applicable today, as confirmed by the New Testament.

God gifts. 1 Peter 4:10-11.

God commands us to work. Ephesians 2:10.

Are you using God’s gifts in your career to answer God’s commands that stir within you? Are you answering God’s calling for your life?

Let this be your drive for 2025. Come to do the work.
