Reflective Prayer before Easter
Preparing for Easter
We are coming into a time of the year where our minds are drawn to consider the moment in history where God became man. I want to encourage you to take a couple of moments now – in the middle of your workday to abide in Christ – to remember what He did. This theme has been repeated a few times recently in our network both in Andy’s video last week and Anita’s story last Thursday night – the need to be still.
So, with this Sunday being Palm Sunday and next week being Holy Week as we prepare to celebrate Easter, I would love you to take the opportunity to pause, take a deep breath and ask the Holy Spirit to meet with you as you read through prayer.
It is right to praise you, Almighty God, for the acts of love by
which you have redeemed us through your Son Jesus Christ
our Lord. On this day he entered the holy city of Jerusalem in
triumph, and was proclaimed as King of kings by those who
spread their garments and branches of palm along his way.
Let these branches be for us signs of his victory, and grant that
we who bear them in his name may ever hail him as our King,
and follow him in the way that leads to eternal life; who lives
and reigns in glory with you and the Holy Spirit, now and
for ever. Amen.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
